APPRAISE YOUR STOCK

Hello and welcome everyone! It's that time of year again..."take stock in yourself." That's right!
Answer these questions...1) How am I doing with my fitness program? How many hours a week
am I devoting to fitness? How far have I come this past year? Where am I headed this next year? What value do I place on my physical and mental fitness? If you are doing nothing, then
you have placed a zero value on yourself...that's a shame. The most important step is to BEGIN!
The second most important step is to continue. Workout for ten straight days and you have formed a new habit. The rest will take care of itself.

Answering your emails...Yes, I will compete again in the indoor track season at a local
university. I will compete in seven meets. This will prepare me for the outdoor season.
Re StemTech...order at www.jimmyo.stemtechbiz.com. The first month, take two capsules in
the AM with food and two in the evening with food. Then the following months, take two
capsuls either in the AM or PM. StemEnhance is a great product. Next week I will I will share with you a product to take for pain...it works!

BE AN EXCITED LEARNER!!!

Hello and welcome everyone! This week's highlight...conducted my "Balance Your Life" class
at First Baptist church on Thursday. Twenty one Seniors attended including a physical therapist. Great group of Seniors. I learn something from each class. Each class has it's own
personality however, three things stand out in every class...1) the social element, they need
"the mix." 2) Fun, laughter. Laughter heals. 3) Support and encouragement to exercise.
Learning exercises they can do at home. For the most part, trainers at fitness clubs fear that
if their clients exercise at home, they will stop coming to the club. NOT TRUE. The environment
that we create is paramount in motivating people to exercise. Teaching people the "how to"
is critical. If "we" the trainers are boring, the class will be boring and the clients are bored and
stop coming. Carl Rogers, educator, once said "I became a great educator when I became an
excited learner." I heard that about 40 years ago and never forgot it. So, to the over 300
participants in my classes, thank you for keeping me excited and motivated.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Thanksgiving is my favorite Holiday.

" A FITNESS SIDE ROAD!" TAKE IT!

Hello and welcome everyone! Taking a side road today...Every once in awhile I like to get on a
side road, slow down and view life from a different window...other than mental and physical
fitness. Friday and Saturday of this past week I spent much of my time at a major US hospital
to be with my one month old grandson. He had to undergo open heart surgery. All of us are thankful that the surgery went well. And now the view from the side road...I observed dozens
of patients with walkers and wheel chairs with bottles and tubes as their cargo. Heads bowed,
agony written in their faces and body language. Hanging onto life by a thread...begging for just
one more day...one more breath. Not all, but many patients could have and should have done something about their lifestyle. They could have changed the course of their lives. Before it's
too late, take a step, a walk on a side road and view your life from a different angle. Accept
where you and what you are...now. Then take a step to a better life...a healthy lifestyle. Do not
take your life for granted...it's the only life you have, treasure it with all you have. A view from
one of life's side roads.

BREAKING DOWN THE "MENTAL WALL!"

Hello and welcome everyone! Breaking down the "mental wall." Let's start there today. A
viewpoint...Many of our fears stem from emotion...not logic or reason. Our "mental block or
wall" stems from an emotion(s). Case in point...my toughest event in track is the 400m. I
developed a mental block regarding the 400m, even practicing it. Why did I run it? to prove
something to myself...to conquer my fear. The 400m is not my best or favorite event. Now,
as soon as I get on the track, before anything else, I run the 400m. I don't even give myself
time to think about it...I just do it. When conducting my classes, when I see people smile when
finishing an exercise, I know they overcome one of their fears. This is especially true with
the physically challenged. They have that look...I can do this!

A "BIPOLAR" VIEWPOINT

Hello and welcome everyone! A VIEWPOINT...a "bipolar" viewpoint. For years and years I have been impressed and motivated by men, women and children who are physically or mentally challenged. It began when I saw a blind man selling his wares on a street corner every day, rain or shine. In my twenties I played alot of fast pitch softball and we had a guy who was our catcher,
who had one arm and hit close to 300. The young woman gymnastist trying to make the 1984
olympic team; she didn't make the team, She had one arm. The 83 year old woman who rode
her bike every day to the swimming pool. She is a diabetic besides. The 94 year old woman in
my fitness class, would not miss a class. The 75 year old woman in another class, needs a
"walker" and does everything in the class. She has a 160 average on the local bowling team.
The woman in a motorized wheel chair, forging her way through ice and snow to do her shopping.
A dear friend of mine, in a wheel chair for 18 months. Had a service dog pulling her wheel chair
to do her shopping. This list could go on and on. I am so overwhelmed by the accomplishments
of these people that I can't find a single word to describe my feelings, the impact they have had
on my life. Webster needs to add a word just for them and all the physically and mentally
challenged people.

The opposite end...there exists an indifferent attitude with these people. If you don't care
enough about your own body...your life...what does that say about your feelings toward others.
Get up! Get up! Get up! Do something! No excuses, no whining. Perhaps the greatest threat
to our health is a lack of movement. Yes...it's a matter of life or death. Decision day is today.
