WHO'S DRIVING???
Welcome everyone...there is a "sameness" in most everything in life. Boredom...the result of habitual/lack of substance behavior. When we cast aside our creativeness, ingenuity, passion, we become robotic, no energy, listless. All athletes face the above with varying degrees. You stop that behavior with "a change up" behavior. Completely change your training routine. Change your mental state of mind. You must take charge...get behind wheel of your life...and drive. Unload that excess baggage. First to the Finish Line...where winners and survivors always meet. Jimmy O

Muscle Confusion...4th in series of 13
Welcome everyone..."I know it by heart." You've said it and heard it. When it comes to drills, exercise, competing, keep an open mind. Being robotic in "practice" can be your undoing. Robotic drills allows your brain to go on vacation...and stay there. Enter...muscle confusion. Reminder...think of each drill as 4 directional. We need to get creative and activate the brain. The brain owns the muscles, minutes you train, how and why, the results. Take ownership of every drill. We tend to do the drills we like. Every so often people will ask me what drills I like to do. My reply, "none, but I love the results." Other than warm up and cool down, I refrain from doing the same drills 2 days in a row. I create new drills and add 3 or 4 new drills each week. I select a few drills
each day that I call "clock on" drills. That's hurry up time. Keeps my brain alert. When I call on my brain to signal a certain set of muscles, I want ACTION NOW! Don't stay in a comfort zone...lazy is not far behind. Next blog...trigger time.

The Brain
Hello and welcome everyone...for the most part, our lives are controlled by time, distance and habits. Addiction can be added. We become mechanical in our every day doings...that's the danger.
When we can go through life without thinking...why exist. We need
to be in control of who we are and what do we stand for. When we
take thinking away...we become a nothing. Most of society goes
through life, exercise and training robotic. We need to emphasis
thinking (the brain) in our activity. A workout should be thought out...daily. It's a good thing we don't have a "remote" to send our
clone to workout (yet). Motivation and passion are the building blocks. Next week...motivation application in our lives.

ON DEMAND!!!
Hello and welcome everyone! Have a great and safe Memorial Day! For many of us this day on
the calander is "crunch time day." On the horizon...the Senior Olympics, Senior Games, the
Masters and this year is the qualifying year for the Nationals and World Championships for
track and field. It doesn't get any bigger than this...from the local "stage" to the national and
world "stage." Now mental toughness not only comes into play...is displayed for all to see. You
either embrace the moment or shrink away. Injuries and "the wall" play a role when it comes
to mental toughness. A help in avoiding injuries...proper warm up, designed to complement
your event(s). Longer warm up time. Double the amount of water you drink. Remember, in hot,
muggy weather you can loose as much as 30% of your muscle power. Your cool down should be
at least 20 minutes. The wall...most of us have experienced "hitting" the wall. We create our
own wall for the most part. When you train with numbers and sets and are glued to a stopwatch,
we develope" muscle and brain memory." Change your workout pattern daily. ON DEMAND
is what you want your body to respond to. Don't become robotic. First to the Finish Line...
where winners and survivors always meet.
