Game On (Balance) 4

Welcome everyone...balance is the key After 30 min. warm up...expect greater endurance, greater mental capacity, alertness and discipline in whatever you attempt. Your skill level will raise. On the balls of your feet for most of these drills. Most of your nerve endings are in your feet. Most of your balance is derived from the inner ear. Today's drills...1) standing in one spot, jump, bringing your knees up waist high, holding hands waist high. Do 30 in 15 sec. 3 sets. Landing on the balls of your feet, you will bounce faster and higher. 2) Balance trainer ball...flat on one side. Start with 2 feet on ball facing a corner wall (if you don't have a work out partner) throw a soccer ball at the corner wall. Catch the return. Repeat10X. Now 1 foot and same drill. 3) Kick ball...stand within 10 feet from wall, kick for 60 sec. Now move within 5 feet of wall and kick for 2 min. Cool down. www.secondwindfitnessfilm.com

Have a Blueprint?

Welcome everyone and let's get started...you better have a blueprint. You wouldn't build anything w/out a blueprint...so, why not your body. Start w/foundation...your feet. Sit or stand, include in your warm up or cool down. Place a ball and or soccer ball under your feet, one foot at a time and rotate each direction, forward and backward and side to side. Two sets 3 min. each set. Do not put all your weight on one foot if standing. 90% of our nerve endings are in the feet. Drill will stimulate your nerves and send positive signals to the brain. Your 'on demand' drills will react much faster.
Results will show up faster. Also sit on an exercise ball, at least 75cm. When sitting on ball knees should be level w/hips. You can do this drill when watching TV or at your desk. I now have 100's of office workers sitting on a ball vs. chair. Your balance will be 100% better. www.secondwindfitnessfilm.com

The Walk

Welcome everyone...take a walk...a healthy walk. Most walkers/joggers find a concrete path. In my dictionary, stay away from concrete and treadmills. Your knees, hips and ankles will sooner or later show the terrible results. Many doctors are directing
people of all ages to walk/run on a soft path, in woods, a beach or sand dunes, or a track. Some trainers are leading the way and running barefoot on blacktop. Every Sunday I walk for an hour. Uphill, downhill and flat. Before and after I invest 5 min. rotating my knees and hips and ankles...5 min. each. At home or my office, I walk around in my stocking feet...I put shoes on when company arrives. Shoes are restrictive. We need to activate the nerve endings in our feet.  www.secondwindfitnessfilm.com

Core/Balance

Welcome everyone...thank for all the comments re previous blogs.
Reminder...stress is the culprit of most health issues. Several years
ago (14) I designed a fitness program called Balance Your Life.
Any one, any age (6-106) have attended this class. Over three
thousand. It is my experience that balance is the core in fitness.
The nerve endings in our feet and the inner ear provides most of our balance. Check out Reflexology and a certified reflexologist,
you will be glad you did. 2.4 million people over age 65 in 2012
ended in ER...50% increase over a decade. All told 2002-2012 more than 200,000 Americans died from falls. I don't have results
from other countries. Some of you might be thinking, "I'm not 65
yet." Well, look at all injuries in ALL sports...injuries from awkward falls, changing direction, pivot, jumping and landing.
Sports and non sports injuries are mounting at an increasing rate hour by hour. Rehab is not fun. Over the next three months I will be researching injuries and will provide you with results.

Have a meaning life everyone...Jimmy O
