RUSH HOUR

Welcome everyone...every once in awhile I feel the need to get off the "super highway" and take a back road. Introspection heals the
inner self. We are in a rush to get no where. We live as though we will never die. We died as though we never lived. Rush to grow up and long to be kids again. The life you have may not be the life you
planned. Fate is what life gives you, destiny is what you do with it..
There is more to life than pumping iron and counting to 10. Life is
made up of time, distance, numbers, connections, evolving, (not trends) and spiritual. Mysteries of life...the future, the past, and the unknown. Funny how that works...half of society is chasing the unknown and the other half is running away from the unknown. The IMPACT we make in life is in direct proportion to your to your own self image. Thanks for riding along. www.secondwindfitnessfilm.com

NEVER EVER!

Hello and welcome everyone! I'm taking this opportunity to pay tribute
to some very special people. Each year since 2004 I began competing for
those who cannot...cancer survivors, care takers, the physically and
mentally challenged. My sponsors are a great support team for my cause.
So, to all of you having to deal with cancer or any other health issue, face
it square on...never, ever give in. I hear "healthy people" say things like
"I'm tired," "I don't feel like working out," or "the weather is bad." Talk
to someone who has terminal cancer...and look at yourself in the mirror.
Now what do you say? For me, it is not just competing for the gold, it's
about life and hope for my special people. One other thing...I'm a
prostate cancer survivor...March, 2004. I thought my life was over. I try
to motivate my "special group of people," they don't realize how much
they motivate me. A big shout out to all of you and thank you. Value life.

WARNING!

Hello and welcome everyone! Over this past year, in talking with tens
of athletes, I was appalled at how many allowed (got caught up with)
news items, politics and world affairs to interfere with and affect their
training, workouts and events. They allowed outside interests affect
their performance. WHY??? One of the roadblocks to success...self
induced distractions. Some of us are guilty of sabotaging ourselves.
Anything you can't control...don't worry about it. The road to success
will always be under construction. Fate is what life gives you...destiny is
what you do with it.

The Oscar/Espy

Hello and welcome everyone! Next week on November 9th I will receive two awards..."Male Athlete of the Year" and the "Leadership in Fitness." I am truly
humbled and overwhelmed having been named receipiant of these prestigous awards.
This is like winning an Oscar and the Espy in one year. I will share these awards
with the people who have supported me and cancer survivors. Their encouragment never wavered and our friendship will endure for as long as I live.
So often in life, honors do not come easy, at least that is the case with me. Being
a prostate cancer survivor, I appreciate life more than ever. Each day is a journey with a destination in mind. And if I don't reach my destination on this
day, I will reach it the next....and I hope all of you will reach your destination.
Fate is what life gives you, destiny is what you do with it.

Have a great and meaningful life everyone! Jimmy O

REVERSE ENERGY

Hello and welcome everyone to 2010! VIEWPOINT...of late, several people have asked me these
questions: What can I do about being tired, feeling stressed, feeling anxious and hypertension?
What about depression and forgetfullness? Having control of our inner self is a mindset. Mental toughness is critical in dealing with the above. Most of us have the ability to control the "outside things" we face daily in life. When people say "I feel tired," even after a good night's sleep, they actually talk themselves into being
tired. When people say, "I know I'm going to have a bad day," or accent the negative, this causes
havoc with your being creative and constructive. You screw up your "mindset." Eventually you
look forward to bad days because you have figured out a way to navigate in this dark environment. You exert your energy (reversed energy) in the wrong direction. You are then
limping through your life. It's your comfort zone. You don't even like to be around people who
are happy. The answer to the above questions lies within yourself. You control the way you
feel or want to feel. Fate is what life gives you...destiny is what you do with it. Also, try deep
breathing exercises several times a day...starting today along with your daily exercise.
Have a great and meaningful life everyone! Jimmy O
