Whose Body?

Hello and welcome everyone...most of us at one point in time have
second guessed or had the thought, what am I missing...what should I be looking for. More and more info has been streaming our
way re the mental side of sports, training and workouts. Now, when
designing fitness programs, I devote/emphasize 40% of clinic/class time to the psych required. Self confidence is critical as we scale
upward in raising the bar. Sports psychologists are no longer an
oddity, but necessity. Raising the bar...requires us to really get to know our body. Psychophsics...the psychological study of the relationship between stimuli and sensory response. Reference...Dr.
Patrick J. Cohn, Reach Your Peak. Mental mistakes...dwelling on
errors is the #1 mistake for athletes. Don't dwell on mistakes. Refocus and use mistakes as building blocks. Takes only about three seconds to refocus. Realize that there are in fact no positive or
negative experiences other than what we define as such. Our perception of an experience has the ultimate power as to how we feel when it's happening. Most of us do not realize the power we have. We have to recalibrate.
Have a meaningful life everyone...Jimmy O
