Welcome everyone...time to go to the beach. Running and sprinting on sand. Not in a straight line when sprinting. A lot of cutting, stopping, start up...and backward for both sprints and running. 10 minute intervals. In between...standing w/feet about 6-8 inches apart, start with rt. leg, lock your knee and raise leg straight up, waist high, now move leg left of body as far as you can...now back to right as far as you can, 5x each direction. Same with left leg. 5 sets. Quads will get a real work out as will your abs. Once a week. Your reward...greater full body balance, quickness, acceleration , power and mental alertness. At least a 30 min. cool down.

Pin the Tail
Welcome everyone...BALANCE. Remember way back when 'pin the tail on the donkey' was popular. Spin you around and pin the tail is back. First, start with feet together and raise one foot w/your eyes closed. Hold for count of 10. Change feet. 3 sets. If needed, stand near wall or chair. Next, close eyes and turn slowly in one direction and then reverse. You are not in a hurry when doing this drill. 5 sets. Next, holding a soccer ball and move your arms back and forth 10 times. 3 sets. No donkey, no tail. In my summer camps, boys and girls, ages 8-18, only 2 out of 10 could do these. When at home watching TV or at your desk sit on an exercise ball at least 75cm or larger. Also, on your knees and hands on ball... do 10-20 pushups. 5 sets. After just 3-5 sessions you will notice significant increase in your balance in all your activities. You will gain strength and endurance. You will also stimulate brain function. Caution...if you have inner ear problems, have someone with you when doing the "eyes closed" series. Jimmy O

Turbo
Hello and welcome everyone...received positive reviews for blogs
Torque and Pop, thank you. Most of you know that I work with and
follow men and women with physical or mental challenges. Julie
Fast, Appalachian Trail. Look up on Bing or google. This blog will
conclude my toughest training drills. Push a 2x4 10m. Bend down
with hands on 2x4 and push as fast as you can. Five sets. I use 8
hurdles, 15 inches in ht. and about 2 feet apart, in a row. Face one
way, jump and spin in air and face the other way as I go over each
hurdle. Jump over hurdles with one foot at a time. Last, jumping
side ways over each hurdle. Five sets each drill. Next drill, jumping
up bringing knees waist high touching knees to hands. Jumping 30
times in 15 seconds. Using ankle weights, one pound each and sprint up steps. I use steps at a place near a lake. There are 84 steps.
Five sets. I have designed 43 different training drills. Mix and match as you wish.
Have a meaningful life everyone...Jimmy O
