Envision where you want to be...

Welcome everyone...if you cannot see yourself "there," don't bother to write it down. We can talk about goals, weights, barbells, lifting, running, any competition...and if we can't 'see' ourselves being there...you won't get there. If you were handed a road map and were told that the map would give you a "maybe" in getting there, would you buy the map. When and until you have the passion and vision of 'there' chances are you will not get there. When you start acting like you are already there...you will realize that dream...you are living it. Next writing...starting that journey. jimmy o www.secondwindfitnessfilm.com  You pack your own chute.

VENUE # 4 last in series

Welcome everyone...over the years, as a business owner, consultant and athlete, I have always felt a parallel between sports and business. The number one enemy facing both...Addiction. Allowed to hang around, game over. Addiction always wins, you lose. Addiction will control your life...until you have no life. No matter
what level of life you find yourself or if you are starting over...Start with your Self Image, that's the who am I and what am I all about. The IMPACT that we make is in direct proportion to our own self image. Purpose in life is more than writing down your goals and throwing the paper into a duffel bag or brief case. It's a visualization...a Passion. this passion doesn't allow for "a drive up window." It consumes your every fiber. No road map. You find a way. You begin to act and behave as though you were already there. First to the finish line. You climbed  your Mt Everest and reached the very top. People don't climb Mt Everest just to reach the top...they climb it to conquer themselves. You conquered yourself...what a feeling. First to the finish Line...Where Winners and Survivors Always Meet. www.secondwindfitnessfilm.com

GPS

Welcome everyone....Happy Holidays to all of you. Last blog for 2013. Endings are tough and beginnings are stimulating. GPS...do you have one. We all need direction, a plan in whatever we do in life;  job, profession, family, sports and so on. Most of us have heard of "genome," map of one's life. We need a "genome" GPS as we map out our plan for 2014 for fitness in 2014. Perhaps the greatest threat to our health is a lack of movement. Some of you are gifted athletes, pros or beginners.
No matter the level we perform at, we will always need a GPS and to follow it. Passion and patience come onto play. How strong is our will to succeed in our goals. Passion and patience are the building blocks to sustain our ambition. We also need to encourage others to follow. There is  or should not be an ending to fitness. That's one reason no one ever graduates from any of my classes. When one stops, one quits. No such thing as status quo in my vocabulary...we either go up or down. Life is so
fragile...treat it as such. As my father would say, "water the flower before it dies." See you next year.

3 P'S

Hello and welcome everyone...this week, a perspective on motivation and success. Those two words are intangables. Everyone has a different definition. Through out my life's experence and countless interviews with a cross section of people
and professions I have come up with the 3 Ps. Practice, passion and
person (self image). It all begins with the person you are...not who
you pretend to be. Write down who you are, describe you. Then have
three people do the same re you. Practice...every person I know or
read about has found that practice and going back to the basics again and again have discovered the critical importance of progressive repitition. You begin to make it look so easy that anyone watching thinks they can do what you do. That's the first sign of becomming a "pro." Passion...whatever it is that you want,
you begin to act and behave as though you were already there. With
any pioneer, there are no paved roads. You blaze your own trail. With passion, you are not afraid of success or failure. And yes,
everyone fails at least once. Sometimes we fail more than we succeed...but in the end we succeed. Be patient, always acting as
though you were already there. I always consider myself as the underdog. I have to outwork the competition. Next week, transition.

GRINDER

Hello and welcome everyone...first off, thanks to all the followers
and your comments. Things that most people leave out of their
workouts/training. 1) Passion...in observing men and women during
their workouts, I do not see a readiness to accomplish something. The
spark is missing. I don't see or feel a PASSION. It is not enough to
write out your goals and carry a clipboard. When you can visualize
your goal, then you begin to act and behave as though you were
already there. The nonverbal speaks volumes. 2) Most tend to miss
the core workout. Your ab workout will carry you a long way in
what ever training you are committed to. Don't miss "the center."
3) How much is enough? Ten of something, twenty or thirty.
We never know what the competition is doing. That's the thing I
worry about most. Can I out work, out train my competitors? 4)
And that's where the mental part of my game comes into play.
Being mentally tough starts well before your event. I can't promise
that exercise will add years to your life...but I can promise you will
add life to your years.

Fatal Trap

Hello and welcome everyone! The fatal trap...roads that lead there are...confusion, insecurity, impulsiveness, nonpurpose and lack of passion. All are critical in building the right road to success. Let's concentrate on PASSION. It's more than writing out your goals and putting them on the fridge door. When you reach a passion for something, you "come alive." You are able to rid yourself of the clutter in your life. Your training, workouts and your life begins to make sense. Long before you reach your goals...you begin to see yourself as already being there. That's passion!

IMPACT

Hello and welcome everyone! IMPACT! That word has dwelled within me
for most of my adult life. Today, I will share with you the meaning of
that word for me. The impact you make in life is in direct proportion to
your own self image. Our behavior mirrors how we feel.
I is for image...self image. That's the who am I and what am I all about.
M is for maturity. How do I handle things in life. Do I accept responsibility or blame others.
P is for purpose in life...it's more than writing down our goals...it's a
passion.
A is for attitude. "I want to be the best of me most of the time."
C is for courage. Having the courage to stand up for what you believe in.
Leaders stand alone much of the time.
T is for touch...the human touch. We need more the just a pat on the
back...everyone should get a hug every day.
Impact should be a way of life.

ADDICT

Hello and welcome everyone! This will be an attempt to define and asses
addiction as it relates sports and mental fitness. After my own experience
and interviewing several athletes and non athletes I have arrived at the
following conclusion. Addiction is the pursuit of or giving way to a
certain lifestyle. Let me apply this to sports, competitive events or training and working out. When we start "slacking off," we either put
into play denial or our mental toughness. From the very first time we
have to make that choice, we come to a life defining moment...a life
changing moment. When it becomes more comfortable to slack than
to pursue our goals, we are on a slippery slope. Our mental toughness
drives the physical. Achievement of any worthy goal requires Passion.
Having a Passion is more than writing down goals. With passion, you
begin to see yourself as already being there. You begin to act and behave
as though you were already there.

BLAME GAME

Hello and welcome everyone! Blame Game...that's the easy way out of
"mental toughness." When things are going good it's easy to claim mental
toughness. Most people are at a loss when it comes to navigating a road
block or detour. The road to success in anything, will always be under
construction. Why is it that the "winner's circle" is filled with men and
women who have overcome great odds. Behind every face, there is a story...a story of passion, grit and inner strength. The story is more than
winning, it's about people conquering themselves. That's the reward for
mental toughness.
This week, I will be competing in the Senior Olympics.
