Thank You
Welcome everyone...on April 11, I posted my last blog and stressed deep breathing and meditation. Then on April 14, the medical profession stressed the very same thing. Then on April 15,16, 17 my web exploded w/emails from you. Even though the medical profession is a long standing client of mine, I doubt I had anything to do with the publication. Let's keep filling our lungs with fresh oxygen with deep breathing...slowly. I appreciate all of you. www.secondwindfitnessfilm.com

Limlts
Welcome everyone...man and woman want to know their limitations...at least most of us. That goes for the casual workout person to the competitor workout person. Designing your own "limitation" workout is one thing...having a stress test by a professional is quite another. Search for someone in the medical field or college/university. What ever our workout purpose is, our health is paramount...and peace of mind. Peak Performance is a worthy goal. We can age...but we don't have to get old. Getting old is a human phase. Aging is a choice. Your mental intelligence is your guide. We get advice from various sources...what is your internal choice? There is no "dress rehearsal" in life. Make it count.

Inside Game
Welcome everyone...a few weeks ago I drew your attention to the
"mental" aspect as we approach the Rio Olympics. Mental prep is
critical. Allowing stress to over take us, muscles lose up to 30% of your power and then muscle pulls, ie Bolt. You cannot improve the
physical without training the mental first. Sports psychologists are
a competitor's best friend. When competing, can you trust your self? Focus on your "inside game."

You are Who?
Welcome every one...write out a script, definitive, as to how you want to train and compete. Your script needs to be specific, not general or vague terms. Follow the script to a "T." In my clinics and seminars, the first question I ask each participant, "define/ describe yourself." Every participant is stumped...cannot do it. That tells me that if you are "in the dark" in knowing yourself, you have doubt, fear, stress and lack self confidence. You are living with someone your whole life and don't know this person. What a shame. Back to the script...get on track with your training and yourself. Funny how that works...accept failure and it will find you. Accept success and you will find it. Next week, Pound the Rock, Ultimate Challenge! Warning...only for the strong, not the weak.

The Unknown
Hello and welcome everyone...2014 is closing fast and it's time to
design our fitness/training program for 2015. I will outline mine next week. Bits and pieces...best read and movie, Stephen Hawking. Best relaxation...Reflexology. Health warning...STRESS.
Stress related issues...common cold, inflammation, weight gain, slower healing, sleep dysfunction, heart disease, ulcers, back, neck
and shoulder pain. Loss of energy. Physical activity actually
recognizes the brain, teaching it stress resistance. Adaptation to
circumstances is a great strength. How we adapt to change is key
to being as much as we can be. Knowing your inner self and the
mental side is critical for attaining our goals. Fear of the unknown
prevents us find the real person...who am I and what am I all about.

MINDSET
Hello and welcome everyone...thank you for your questions and
comments. Let me address a few of your concerns...pain, pain relief and injury. In the world of sports, competing, training and
working out, our greatest fear is injury and pain. These fears not only affect our performance, but also our mindset. The culprit for
me...pulled hamstring and groin muscle. Through observation as
an athletic trainer and tons of research, I will summarize some of
my findings. Poor technique and a LACK of water, cologen and
hydration cause most of the problems relating injury, stress and
pain. Imbalance of muscle is the real culprit. I see poor technique
in the weight room, runners, sprinters, bikers and exercise routines.
Rehab is no fun. Read an article by Sue Hitzmann...she writes,
"daily repetitive movement and postures causes connective tissue
to dehydrate and over time stress and inflamation." Then we
encounter sleepless nights, anxiety, digestive issues and depression.
Not a pretty picture. Hope this helps.
